Description
"If we can learn to live with bears, especially the grizzly, and if we can learn to accommodate the needs of bears in their natural environment, then maybe we can also find ways to use the finite resources of our continent and still maintain some of the diversity and natural beauty that were here when Columbus arrived.” ~ Stephen Herrero (Doctor of Animal Behavior)
Dripping Wet. An adorable cub standing and dripping water from feeding in the wetland in Lake Clark National Park & Preserve. The sun was at an angle highlighting his/her fur.
Brown bear cubs nurse on their mother's milk until spring and stay with her for some two and a half years—so females only reproduce once every three years.
